Women Business Loans

There is a saying that when you empower a woman, you empower the society. There has never been a truer statement than this. The population of Women is significantly higher than that of men in almost every country and for any country keen on achieving economic growth; women must be included and involved in the country’s economic policy planning. As a matter of fact, women have started making forays into the business world and changed the age old perception that corporate success belongs to men in suits.

This has resulted from the many opportunities the private sector and governments worldwide have given to them including but not limited to special small business loans for women by government and other support such as business mentoring and passing of laws that are friendly to women. Government agencies like the Small Business Administration (SBA) has started an Office of Women Business Ownership which has branches all over Malaysia to provide financial support and training for women either in business already or those planning to start up new businesses. The extensive courses, which can run up to a year, equip the women entrepreneurs with skills and knowledge necessary to start, run and grow a business.

It does not start and end with the government though; there are a lot of organizations providing start up business loans for women at very low interest rates. Apart from those few sources of finance, there are so many other opportunities available for women, more than they are for men. Women in business can have their financing needs met, of course with some conditions, by Venture Capitalists, Angel Capitalists and even loans from friends, relatives and other acquaintances. All that women entrepreneurs are asked to do is to be aggressive and not afraid of success, because what a man can do, a woman can do better.
